Welcome to the SEMAG #100 information page

SEMass Map

It really is hard to believe, but this event will mark the 100th consecutive month in which a SEMAG event has been held. To commemorate this occasion, we are going big with this event with some activities planned!

The official SEMAG #100 event page can be found here:

The official SEMAG #100 KICKOFF event page can be found here:
The SEMAG 100 Kickoff Event

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR! Attendance has exceeded the number of picnic tables available at the event site.

There are about 20 picnic tables scatttered around the site, but we have now almost exceeded 200 "will attend" logs. Since many caching names belong to pairs or groups, you know that means way more than 200 people!

SEMAG #100 Game Rules

30 caches will be hidden in the general area. There will be an additional bonus cache. Partial coordinates will be hidden in random caches. You will find 2 containers at each location: 1 will hold the envelopes with playing pieces; the other, smaller container is the cache that will remain. The smaller container will hold the log and trade items.

There is limited parking in each area. PLEASE CONSIDER CARPOOLING as to not overwhelm the roads!

Caches will be color coded in sets of 5:

  • 1 Red - easiest, requires short or no hike
  • 2 Blue - short-to-moderate hike required
  • 3 Green - short-to-moderate hike required
  • 4 Orange - short-to-moderate hike required
  • 5 Purple - short-to-moderate hike required
  • 6 Black - hardest, longest hike required

Caches in sets 1-5 will each contain 150 labeled envelopes with playing pieces in them. Caches in set 6 will have 75 envelopes each. A Wildcard piece or an extra playing piece will be included in some envelopes in random caches. The Wildcard piece can be used anywhere on the playing cards to complete the set.

PLEASE TAKE ONLY 1 ENVELOPE PER CACHE and PER CACHING NAME so that everyone has a chance to participate. You will use the pieces at the SEMAG #100 event to play the game. Game piece envelopes are sealed as well as color and number coded. You should return to the event with only one of each color/number combination.

Upon arrival at the SEMAG #100 event, you will be given one playing card and a small envelope containing 20 random playing pieces and 1 Wildcard piece. This will allow those who only find a few caches, or none at all, to still be able to play the game. DO NOT OPEN YOUR ENVELOPES until told to do so.

An option to purchase a limited number of extra playing cards will be available at the event for $1.00 each.

When announced, open your envelopes and match the playing pieces to your card.

If your pieces can create a winning card, please let us know and then pick a prize!

After the initial game, if there is time and/or interest, we will play another round for fun. If there are prizes remaining, winners can choose a prize.

PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD YOUR PLAYING PIECES OR CARDS at the end of the event. We will have a collection bin for all envelopes, playing pieces and cards just in case insanity takes over again in the future and we decide to run another event like this.
